About Brainco

The Minneapolis School of Advertising, Design & Interactive Studies.

History

Brainco began in 1994 as a workshop that helped copywriters and art directors put together portfolios and get their first jobs. Four years later we received our license from the State of Minnesota and became an official school-The Minneapolis School of Advertising, Design and Interactive Studies. “Brainco” is still there for sentimental reasons- we hope you like it, it’s on all our t-shirts, jogging suits, clocks, coffee mugs, 64-piece tool sets, and hubcaps.

Who goes here?

Our students are dispersed amongst all our creative disciplines. They come from around the country and around the world. Everyone here is really passionate about what they’re doing. If you’ve been looking for a group of people who understand what a big deal it is when Chank releases a new font-call off the search, you’ve found your new home. We’re not a huge school, so you don’t have to pledge to a sorority just to find a group to hang out with. Because students spend a lot of time together working on assignments, you’ll get to know your classmates pretty well-maybe too well.

Faculty

You’ll be taught by award-winning instructors that are working professionals from agencies or design firms such as Martin/Williams, Hunt Adkins, Carmichael Lynch, Kilter, Olson, Little and Company, Periscope, Colle and McVoy, Space 150 and Fallon. Some of our instructors are funny, others could be if they wanted to be.
